Rock are delighted to announce our winning of the waterproofing contract for the highly prestigious London Bridge Tower, better known as the Shard. Its architect, Renzo Piano, has said that “the tower is designed to be a sharp and light presence on the London skyline, and to be sustainable from every point of view: human, technological, energetic and economic.”
When completed in 2012, the Shard will stand at 310 m tall and have 72 floors, plus 15 further radiator floors in the roof. It will be Britain's tallest building and the tallest in the European Union.
Unlike many of London’s famous towers, the Shard will have a public viewing gallery at the top. Once our work is finished, we’re certainly looking forward to taking in the spectacular views over London from the gallery.
Rock are also extending our services to the temporary waterproofing facility during the tower’s construction.
