Solardec for Suffolk One

If you’ve been to the Renewable Energy section of this site you will know of our Solardec product – an advanced method for capturing energy from the sun to heat buildings.

Solardec plays a central role in the Interseasonal Heat Transfer system. We have just finished installing 2,500 sq m of Solardec as part of the IHT system at Suffolk One.

Suffolk One is an inspirational, brand new learning centre for students aged 16-19, due to open in September 2010.

The centre serves South West Ipswich and South Suffolk, and has declared its intention to represent “the best of 21st century education, combining challenge, rigour, enjoyment, and wellbeing to create quality learning, in a quality environment.”

The bulk of the £50million funding for Suffolk One comes from the Government's Learning & Skills Council. Rock has frequently collaborated on frameworks for this type of high profile public sector project. We are proud to declare ourselves a carbon neutral company, and are keen to help more planners create zero carbon schools and colleges by employing innovative products like Solardec.
